The Paralegal Learning Center
represents a new type of learning methodology. “Distance
learning” is among the fastest growing education delivery
systems for a very simple reason: in today’s fast-paced
world, not everyone can leave their current job or obligations
to enter a “physical” school fulltime.
Distance learning is an exceptionally effective and flexible
means to further your education and career. At The PLC, we believe
that everyone who has the desire to pursue a career as a paralegal
should have that opportunity. By removing the traditional obstacles
to education, we make the paralegal career opportunity attainable.
By using the Internet and The PLC’s
state-of-the-art distance learning platform, you can pickup
assignments, communicate directly with your instructors, enter
discussion groups that are “live,” review archived
discussions, take exams and earn your paralegal certificate
when it is most convenient for you.
Website Access
After you enroll in The PLC Certificate
Program, you will receive your username and password to
the online teaching site. From there, you can pickup the latest
assignment, attend the next realtime discussion, review previous
discussions, meet other students and instructors online, or
just hang out at The PLC’s Online Café where
you can read newspapers and magazines from around the world.
The PLC’s site will also provide resources
for you to work on your resume, begin your job search or independently
research topics covered in your course.
Online Research Tools
In addition to the substantive areas of
the law that are described in the Curriculum,
you will also learn the critical skills of legal writing and
research, including training in the online research tool Lexis/Nexis.
When you enroll, you will receive a username and password
for this powerful research tool, at no additional cost.
Throughout your career as a paralegal, you will
use the research skills you acquire at The PLC on a daily
basis.
